Could an asteroid get trapped in Earth's gravity field like Phobos and Deimos around Mars ?
The highest peek of Earth is Mount Everest (about 8km height) and of Mars is Olympus Mons (about 24 km height). Is it coincidence that this volcano is 3 times higher than the one on Earth and that the gravity of Mars is 3 times less than that of Earth?
Is there a kind of rule which describes how high the highest mountain can be according to its gravity?
As its moons are small asteroids trapped by its gravity field, could a new one be trapped as well ?
