How come the Martian atmosphere has not been stripped away by solar wind if it is not protected by a magnetic field?
Does Mars have strong magnetic poles that can be used for navigation, in the same way that Earth does?
Does Mars have magnetic poles to aid in surface navigation? If not, then what system is/will be used in mapping and exploration?
I have heard scientists speculate on the prospect of someday 'terraforming' Mars to make it suitable for human habitation. How feasible is this idea, realistically, when Mars lacks a strong magnetic field, which is necessary in our understanding of physics,
in order to hold a habitable atmosphere around the planet?
because Mars has no magnetic field or it is too weak, ¿what kind of materials would be needed, to protect to the first humans, from solar radiation?
