If we could develop a way to put some kind of photo-synthesizing life-form on Mars (plants or microbes), would the atmosphere eventually be able to support life due to the gases used and expelled by these life-forms?
Would it be a good idea to send a probe to bury dead, sterilized organic matter to mars to try and coax bacteria out of any hindind places?
Do we feel that the chances of finding microbial life, or the remnants of, are greater at the poles?
